Tzatziki is a refreshing Greek sauce that goes perfectly with grilled meat or as a dip for vegetables. We have a simple recipe for freezing homemade tzatziki
Ingredients:
- 500 g Greek yogurt
- 1 large cucumber
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1-2 tbsp fresh chopped dill
Preparation:
- Peel and halve the cucumber. Remove the seeds with a spoon and coarsely grate the cucumber.
- Place the grated cucumber in a sieve, salt lightly and let stand for about 10 minutes. Then squeeze the cucumber well to remove excess water.
- In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, squeezed garlic, olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper.
- Add the squeezed cucumber and dill and mix everything well.
- Let the tzatziki steep in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so that the flavors can develop.
